Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate an exciting milestone earlier this month!

We broke ground on the brand new lab! This has been a long time coming, and we owe a huge thank you to our board members – past and present – along with our donors, legislators, supporters, & staff who worked & advocated tirelessly to make this happen.

We can’t wait to welcome students & the community into this space next fall!

Registration for our December 4th Homeschool Day is still open!

THANK YOU to the Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation for our new water bottle filling station in Waitt Lab! The entryway is always open, so you can fill your water bottle anytime if you’re passing through on your bike or using the trails.

2025 Artist-in-Residence (AIR) & Lakeside Alum ’19, Makayla Carlson, has a piece at the Pearson Lakes Art Center Biennial Exhibition at the Monte Pearson Gallery now through February 21st! This juried exhibition brings together emerging and established artists who are actively producing and presenting new work, offering a glimpse of the contemporary art happening in the Midwest.

Iowa Lakeside Laboratory is located on the homelands of several Indigenous nations including the Báxoǰe (Iowa), Umoⁿhoⁿ (Omaha), Póⁿka (Ponca), Dakota/Lakota/Nakoda, and Sahnish/Nuxbaaga/Nuweta (Three Affiliated Tribes) and acknowledges the sovereignty and traditional territories of these people, the treaties that were used to remove them, and the histories of dispossession.
